The University of Maine System is currently looking to fill the position of Network Engineer I.
Primary Purpose of Position
The Network Engineer I supports all voice, video, and data communications services for the University of Maine System, the Maine School and Library Network (MSLN), and Maine’s Research and Education Network (MaineREN). These responsibilities include all activities in the design, installation, maintenance, and configuration of voice, video and data equipment and software. This position also researches and conducts assigned projects involving emerging technologies in these areas. In this position, a person must perform these functions independently under general directions with certain degree of creativity and latitude required. This position interfaces with all offices of the University and many external constituents.

Reports to either a Senior Communications Specialist or Network Architect
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
A Bachelors degree in a technical field
Three to five years of technical education and / or experience with data networking and communications.
The salary range is mid $40's to $60,000 based on the qualifications and experience of the successful applicant. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and tuition waiver programs for employees and dependents. In addition, the UMS retirement program provides a 10% employer contribution.
