The University of Maine System is looking to fill the position of Campus Services Senior Technical Lead located on the Orono campus of the University of Maine.
The Campus Services Senior Technical Lead position is an upperlevel technical position. Responsibilities include general technical support coordination, project management, software image management, legacy system and server administration transitional support, application administration, automation scripting, and network support coordination. This position may also assist in the supervision of other IT staff, coordinate and schedule work, evaluate performance, make recommendations for hiring, termination, and disciplinary actions. This position also serves as a highlevel technical advisor to the entire Campus Services team and as backup to the IT Operations Manager.
The Campus Services Senior Technical Lead reports to the Campus IT Operations Manager
Responsible for direct and indirect supervision of other IT staff. Supervisory duties include: prioritize and assign work; conduct performance evaluations; insure staff are trained and follow policies and procedures; maintain a healthy and safe working environment; and make hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations.
Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
5 or more years of relevant professional experience.
Current technical proficiency, working with engineering teams to deliver appropriate solutions based on a changing IT landscape.
Ability to identify and analyze problems and distinguish between relevant and irrelevant information to make logical decisions and provide solutions.
Excellent interpersonal communication and active listening skills.
Strong commitment to customer experience providing leadership and mentoring on customer relationships, accountability, responsibility and urgency.
Ability to plan and perform involved or technical work presenting new or regularly changing problems, work from broad instruction, and deal with complex factors not easily evaluated.
May provide budget input and coordinate work with outside contractors for supported departments as needed.
Demonstrated ability to lead in a team environment and coordinate projects.
Valid driver’s license for travel between campuses

The salary range is low to high $40's based on the qualifications and experience of the successful applicant. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and tuition waiver programs for employees and dependents. In addition, the UMS retirement program provides a 10% employer contribution.
